Dr Abdullah Al Jameel is a cardiologist by profession. Matulaloy was born on July 26, 1961 in Noabad village of Raipura police station in Narsingdi district on a rainy day in the month of Shravan. He spent a few days in the village as a child, the memory of which is reflected in his poems. He passed SSC (1979) and HSC (1981) from Jhenaidah Cadet College. Passed MBBS from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Barisal in 1988.
